Welcome to The Political, a student-led political education and discussion club officially authorized by Deutsche Schule Rom ("the School"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of the website of The Political (the "Website").
By accessing or using the Website, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the Website.
About The Political
The Political is a student-led educational initiative operating within Deutsche Schule Rom. Its purpose is to promote political education, critical thinking, informed discussion, and respectful engagement with political and social issues.
The Political is non-partisan and does not endorse or officially represent any political party, candidate, government, movement, or ideological organization.
Although The Political is officially authorized by Deutsche Schule Rom, this authorization does not mean that the School endorses, approves, or adopts any particular opinion, article, statement, or other content published on the Website.
Unless expressly identified as an official statement of The Political, all opinions expressed by students, contributors, members, or guest participants are those of the individual author alone.

Acceptable Use
You may access and use the Website only for lawful, personal, and educational purposes. When using the Website, you must not:

We reserve the right to restrict or suspend access to any feature of the Website where reasonably necessary to protect the Website, its users, or the integrity of the Club.

Political Discussion and Editorial Content
The Political welcomes discussion of political ideas, including disagreement and the consideration of differing perspectives. Disagreement is encouraged; harassment and personal attacks are not tolerated.
The Website may include political opinions, commentary, analysis, and articles written by students and other contributors. The publication of any opinion or argument on the Website does not imply that The Political endorses it. Unless stated otherwise, an article or publication reflects the views of its individual author only.
Contributors are expected to distinguish clearly between factual claims, interpretation, and personal opinion, and to cite appropriate sources when presenting facts.

Accuracy of Information
The Political takes reasonable steps to ensure that content published on the Website is accurate and responsibly presented. However, political events, legislation, statistics, and policies can change over time, and we cannot guarantee that all content will remain complete, current, or error-free.
The Website should not be relied upon as the sole basis for decisions of a political, legal, financial, academic, or other significant nature. Users are encouraged to consult authoritative sources or qualified professionals where appropriate.

Submitting content does not transfer ownership of that content to The Political. However, by submitting User Content for publication, you grant The Political a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to publish, display, reproduce, and distribute that content through the Website and the Club's official communication channels, for educational and non-commercial purposes.
The Political reserves the right to decline to publish, to edit for formatting or clarity, or to remove User Content where reasonably necessary to uphold the standards and purpose of the Website.

Responsibility for User Content
Publication of User Content does not imply that The Political endorses or agrees with it. Each contributor remains solely responsible for the content they submit.
The Political may remove User Content that it reasonably considers to be unlawful, inappropriate, misleading, discriminatory, abusive, or otherwise inconsistent with the educational purpose of the Club or the standards of the school environment

Intellectual Property
Except where stated otherwise, all original content created by The Political — including its name, logo, branding, educational materials, and publications — is owned by The Political or its respective creators and is protected under applicable intellectual property law.
You may read, reference, and share publicly available content from the Website for personal or educational purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to The Political.
You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, republish, or commercially exploit substantial portions of The Political's original materials without prior written permission. Rights to third-party material remain with their respective owners.

Official Channels and Third-Party Links
The Political operates official digital platforms, including its Instagram account, YouTube channel, and other channels managed directly by the Club. Content published through these official channels forms part of The Political's official communications, unless stated otherwise.
The Website may also contain links to third-party websites, publications, or resources that are not owned or controlled by The Political. The inclusion of such a link does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or affiliation. The Political is not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, security, or privacy practices of any third-party website, and users who access third-party sites do so at their own discretion and subject to that third party's own terms.

Availability and Security
We aim to keep the Website available and functioning properly but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from technical faults. The Website may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, hosting issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
You must not attempt to interfere with the Website or bypass any security or access-control measures.

Minors and School Community
The Political operates within Deutsche Schule Rom, and many of its members, contributors, and readers are expected to be students who are minors under applicable law.
Students who are minors may participate in the Club and contribute content in accordance with the School's own internal rules and supervision. Where a submission is published under a student's name, it is understood to be made within the educational context of the Club and under the general oversight applicable to school activities. Parents or legal guardians who have concerns about content attributed to a minor, or about a minor's participation in the Club, may contact The Political or the School directly using the details in Section 17.
The Political will remove or restrict access to content involving a minor upon a reasonable request from that minor's parent or legal guardian, or from the School.

Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Political, and their respective student organizers, contributors, and volunteers shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from:

your use of, or inability to use, the Website;

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

The date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised. Material changes will, where appropriate, be communicated through the Website or other official Club channels.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with Italian law and Eropean law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, given that the Website is operated from Italy and directed primarily at the school community based there.
Nothing in these Terms affects any mandatory legal protection that cannot be excluded or limited by agreement under Italian law or any other applicable law. Any dispute relating to the Website or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Italy, save where mandatory law provides otherwise.
